2018’s God of War looked, and still looks, utterly fantastic with wonderful details, lighting effects, and materials that flexed and moved realistically. Its direct sequel, God of War Ragnarök, raises the standard even further. And that really shines on a TV that can provide deep blacks, massive levels of contrast and a bountiful bouquet of colors. Granted, Ragnarök isn’t necessarily a huge leap over its predecessor in terms of overall graphics, as the game is available on both the PS4 and the PS5....

Google’s new Scene Exploration feature seems to have taken this one idea and made it immensely more useful. Announced at Google I/O 2022, Scene Exploration will let you point your phone’s camera at an object and then ask a question to help filter your results. And you can pan around while you do it to scan multiple objects in real time. For example, the presenter at Google I/O displayed a rack of candy bars, and then asked Scene Exploration to highlight ones that were highly rated, nut-free and made from dark chocolate....

Google Maps is about to make it even easier to check out new places. A new “Immersive View (opens in new tab)” has just been announced at Google I/O 2022 (opens in new tab), and is set to arrive later this year. It promises to give users the chance to explore a 3D-rendered version of big cities from within the Google Maps app. If that sounds familiar, it’s because it’s not that dissimilar to Apple Maps’ Flyover feature....

There’s a lot we still don’t know about the Google Pixel Watch, which is due to arrive sometime in the fall. But a new rumor might have revealed a few details about the smartwatch’s battery; unfortunately it doesn’t sound like anything particularly special. According to a source speaking to 9to5Google (opens in new tab), the Pixel Watch will have a battery “just under 300 mAh." That’s not an enormous amount, sitting between the 40mm and 44mm Galaxy Watch 4 models, which each have respective 247 mAh and 361 mAh battery capacity....
